THE 13th FLOOR
It's been some years since the film was presented in the cinemas, and everyone likes to remember how the soundtrack brought the immediate, Germany-wide success for HIM. "Join Me In Death", renamed for the movie as "Join Me", was the song, that went through the music channels and developed from a simple soundtrack song to being something even more popular than the film itself. Shortly after "Join Me" became the number 1 in the charts, the album "Razorblade Romance" was released and also became number 1, HIM became superstars over night. Ville was very surprised and can't really understand it all, so the song is today band internal named "Funny song".
N.B.: You can hear "Join Me" ONLY in the European release of the movie... in the American release has "Erase & Rewind" by Cardigans as credits music.

The film:
The computer specialists Douglas Hall and Hannon Fuller have created a universe, Los Angeles in the year 1937... on a computerchip. When Fuller is found dead and the investigations lead to Douglas, he becomes the main suspicious person. But he can't remember anyhing. To find out the truth, he has to go to 1937. He finds out, that the conspiracy is spreaded in both dimensions. On his way to find the truth, he meets a mysterious beauty who says to be Fuller's daughter. Does she have the key to solve the secret? Douglas follows the dangerous trace...

CANTINA WEST
"Helsinki has got some meeting places, we all like to visit. But our favorite one is Cantina West. The owner of it is a member of the finnish cult band Leningrad Cowboys by the way. Besides meeting other nice people you can get the legendary Strawberry-Margherita - we think it is the best one in whole Finland, maybe in the whole world. At Cantina West we had been banned for half a year. We liked the bar stools with the heart-back! When we tried to smuggle them out under our winter-coat, we had been catched..."

TAVASTIA KLUBI
"Everything with HIM started at Tavastia-Club. It is the only big Liveclub of the city. It takes 1.000 people, I think in whole Finland isn't any bigger one. Well, exactly at this club we had our first gig 5 years ago. It was sold out - of course, because we played at the previos-programm of a known finish Band. When we had been alone on tour the first time with our debut-album "Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666" in 1998 and we played at Tavastia, we had been very nervous. We would have been very happy with a half filled club, but the club was totaly filled. And thats very rare for a finnish band. Even if we are not playing, we chill out at Tavastia very often. The Club has got a little bar, where you can get some food too, and permanent good rock-band play there."
HIM had been playing several times in the club, for example on december 31th 2000. This concert was the first for their new member, Emerson Burton, who officially replaced Zoltan Pluto from then on. The 69 Eyes have also been playing some gigs there, as well as almost all popular Finnish bands.
Just next to the club is a little restaurant, called "Ravintola Ilves". Ville about that: "The Cafe Ilves lies next to the club Tavastia. And here you get the definately best pasta in the whole town. Of course you get the typical finnish dish, reindeer."

BUDDHA COGNAC, MICHAEL EROS...
Buddha Cognac: Gas
Michael Eros: Migé (also Michael Erosina, Michael Fors)
"The new guy": Burton
Daniel Lioneye: Lily (also Danny)
The booklet of "Deep Shadows & Brilliant Highlights" also lists some more names, which can be assigned to the members like this if reading the whole text around it:
Don Vitto, probably Ville (Vitto= finn. "idiot", "a**" or even worse)
S. Ieni, probably Migé
Elvis, probably Lily (because of the voice)

I HATE MY SELF & I WANT TO DIE
Ville gave this as answer in an interview when he was asked, what he likes about him and what not. It alarmed some fans, but there's a simple explanation: the sentence is also the title of a song by Nirvana, that Ville quoted. He is not that discontent with himself and wants to die.

FUNNY SONG
Nickname for "Join Me (In Death)", used band internal. We don't know the reason for this name, but Ville often said, that the success of "Join Me" has surprised him and that he doesn't think it's one of his best songs. He thinks it's strange and funny, that just this song has caused such popularity in the Pop-biz.

666 revisitied
Original name of "Death Is In Love With Us". The song is just as "Heaven Tonight" an exception on "Razorblade Romance". It's short and rough and reminds of the first album. To emphasize this similar sound, the "666" was used again like it often was on the first album, but not on the second. Later they found another name for the song. "Heaven Tonight" was the last song that was written for "Razorblade Romance", so it sounds more like those from the third album.

[OLT]
Added to the song "The 9th Circle", it means "One Last Time". Both songs have almost the same lyrics and only differ in the arrangements. "The 9th Circle" is just another version of the song and is not on the normal, but only on the limited edition of the album.

LOVE YOU LIKE I DO
Is on "Deep Shadows And Brilliant Highlights", has not been released as single in any country so far. Ville recorded the demo being completely drunk, large parts were kept in the song.

MUBBLES
Working title of "You Are The One", is on the limited "Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights".

RAZORBLADE KISS
Is released on the album "Razorblade Romance", but was not released as single in any country. At first the song was named "Razorblade Romance", but because the title was used for the album, they took another one.

SERPENT RIDE
Is only on the demo-tape and not on any released CD.

SIGILLUM DIABOLI
Is released on the limited version of "Razorblade Romance". The lyrics are the same as of "Stigmata Diaboli".

STIGMATA DIABOLI
Is released on "666 Ways To Love: Prologue". The lyrics are the same as of "Sigillum Diaboli".

BORELLUS
Borellus (Giovanni Alfonso BORELLI) is a medieval Italian writer, alchemist, an author of books about occultism and necromancy. Borellus is mentioned in Lovecraft's stories: "The Evil Clergyman" and "The Case Of Charles Dexter Ward". By the way, the last one starts with the first verse from HIM song "Borellus".
