| HIM's
very rare debut EP from 1996. Only 1000 copies were pressed as digipack
and this EP was distributed exclusively in Finland, it is not available
anymore. The band, still using the name His Infernal Majesty at
this time, sold the EP by themselves. On the cover you can see Ville's
mom. The EP was produced (by Hiili) and released in 1996. The studio
work took place in Helsinki.
All
tracks are early versions and differ from album versions (especially
"The Heartless"). It became very popular in Finland especially
because of the coverv ersion of the Chris Isaak Hit "Wicked
Game". The original celebrated already a world wide topten
hit, moreover it was the Soundtrack for the David Lynch Film "Wild
At Heart". The unusual cover version became the basis for the
first album and the first big step was done. «It was a
absolut great moment when we saw our own music was pressed on a
real cd. I am sure we will never forget this moment!»,
Ville says. With this EP the guys played several gigs in the Helsinki
area. They performed for example in the famous Tavastia Klubbi,
where also the Record Release Gig for "666 Ways To Love: Prologue"
was played on 19.10.1996 before they went to the studio again to
record their debut album... |
